This is such an easy and fresh recipe to make. I love that everything is done from scratch. You can feel real good about making this dessert because there are no mixes or prepared ingredients, it is all homemade. Would you use a green apple in this recipe for tartness, or stick with a red?

Personally I would stick with a Granny Smith variety. Isn't that what they always say? To use the green, tart apples for baking pies and anything of that nature? I can imagine the smells coming from my house as this is simmering away in my slow cooker this fall. I want to make this for my family this weekend!
