Delicious Slow Cooker Red Beans and Rice
Delicious Slow Cooker Red Beans and Rice is a great dish to serve for a weeknight meal or even a game day event. This dish brings a little bit of Louisiana-style cooking right into your kitchen. This recipe contains easy-to-find ingredients and is extremely kid-friendly. You’ll take the softened onions, the sausage, drained beans, diced green peppers, and all of the other ingredients and drop them into the slow cooker and turn it on for a few hours. You can cook your rice separately. To serve you can drape your slow cooker mixture over the rice. You are likely to have a positive reaction to the dry rice with the more moist slow cooker ingredients. Enjoy!

I love the aromatics and the seasonings used to flavor this dish. It makes your kitchen smell amazing. To cut down on the sodium a bit, try using a low sodium bean variety or use dried beans that have been soaked overnight. I sometimes use spicy chicken sausage in this to cut down on the fat.
