What is cherry brandy? I have never heard of it before now. I want to make this dish so bad because it sounds absolutely tasty! I know we love cherry recipes in our house, so this one will be a keeper for sure. I can see the kids asking me to make this several times.

I am trying to figure out if I would really want to use an entire bottle of red food coloring. Might not be necessary. ?? Pretty much any kind of cake can be adjusted to be made in your slow cooker. Have I done it myself? Just once. And it was alright. But I may give this one a try just because I LOOVE my cherries, especially cherry pie filling-type cherries.

Hi princess6860504, you could definitely leave out the food coloring. The cake wouldn't be the color of red velvet, but it would taste the same. - Natalie, Editor of AllFreeSlowCookerRecipes
