Did you choose the applesauce to make the cake more moist or less sugary? My mom makes an applesauce cookie that uses the ingredient for a lower sugar content than other fruits. I like them a lot. They are very moist and taste delicious. She used to make them for my grandparents by the dozens and they would always freeze some for later and snack on the rest.

I have got to try this recipe. I can't imagine making a cake in my slow cooker. It's surprising that it is only four ingredients. Carrot cake is one of my all time favorites. I am surprised that this uses a cake mix. It's going to be interesting. If my trial run works out well I'll have to make it for an Easter family gathering. This is going on my Pinterest page.
