I have never heard of using bacon on hot dogs, but I am game to try it. I think it sounds yummy. Do you prefer to use the light or dark brown sugar? I guess it don't really matter, but some people have a preference one way or the other.

I appreciate the tip from the commenter below, as I do not think the bacon is cooked to my particular liking in the picture above. I definitely like mine more opaque and just a little more crispy- it gives the bacon more flavor, too. You can't get any easier with your shopping list. You can serve an entire crowd for just a few bucks. For that price, I can feel free to double up with out spending an arm and a leg.

If you like the bacon a little bit crispier than this, you can put them on a sheet pan lined with tin foil (for the sake of no extra dishes to wash) and pop them under the broiler for a minute or two, flip them over, and broil for another 2 minutes. This helps to get some of the excess grease off of them too.

This was a long time ago, but when my mom had parties she did the hot dog and or chicken liver appetizer wrapped in bacon. I think she just set it regular 350 degrees and slid them in until done. once the bacon was cooked or looked almost crisp she pulled them out. I want to tell you, I haven't had these in close to 50 years, but I could close my eyes and just about dream the taste...Yum!!!
