This recipe reminds me of sauerbraten but you have to marinade the meat longer. I like the addition of the chopped pickles, red wine vinegar and the german mustard. I am a big fan of different kinds of mustard and they do add something to a dish. I use my slow cooker a lot because I work from home. It is going to be hard to concentrate with this recipe cooking all day but the end result will be worth it. You can serve it over noodles or make your own spatzel with is easy. I'm going to try this, but I'm probably not going to brown the roast first. I always find it an unnecessary step.

It isn't really necessary to brown a roast before cooking, but I find that doing so will give the juices/gravy a richer taste. I recommend it!

Okay, I was a little worried about the ingredients, but this was tasty and. We loved the gravy. Served with buttered noodles. This will stay on my list of regulars to come back too.
