Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 tablespoons butter, cut into slices
- 4 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 5 carrots, peeled and chopped
- 4 pounds whole chicken
Instructions

Remove gizzards from chicken. Rinse off and dry chicken.

Mix together garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt , pepper, oregano, and thyme, to make rub.

Rub dry rub mix all over the chicken. Feel free to put seasoning under the skin and inside the chicken.

Take butter slices, and place them underneath the skin of the chicken.

Put down a layer of vegetables in slow cooker This should be your celery, onion, carrots, garlic.

Place chicken on top of vegetables.

Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours. (A 3-pound chicken takes about 4.5 hours.) Always double check with a meat thermometer.
