I love that you came up with an easy way to make the monkey bread. Some recipes call for biscuits, but using the crescent roll dough is just the same. I like using the cinnamon chips. They have a good flavor, and I think they make a great addition to this recipe. I can see making this for my kids a ton of times.

I love monkey bread! Why don't I ever think to make it? I've never tried to make it in a slow cooker. What are cinnamon chips? Are they in the baking row by chocolate chips? What can I use if I don't find them? This will be great breakfast for New Year's. They'll be good with milk or coffee.
