I sometimes like to use half and half ground beef and sausage for this dish, just like I do when I am making a hearty meat sauce for spaghetti. It has a punch of that sausage flavor without becoming too greasy. I just brown up a pound of each in the same skillet, drain the fat, and divide it in half - half for now, and half to throw in the freezer for when you don't want to cook later!

I can't wait to make this lasagna. I have a slow cooker lasagna recipe, but it uses ground beef and it doesn't have spinach. My recipe is really good, but this one looks great! My family won't even mind that I added spinach. We'll have garlic bread and salads as side dishes.
