I just love the combination of bacon with broccoli in a casserole. A lot of times I will cook up a couple strips of bacon in a skillet and then cook broccoli in it for a side dish! It really adds a great comforting richness to the cream sauce. I would love to come home to the smell of this cooking on a cold winter's night!
