I could not find chipotle powder at my local grocer either. So what I did instead is get a small can of chipotles in adobe sauce. I chopped up one pepper, seeds and all, and also used a couple of tablespoons of the sauce. It was quite tasty. You could also use a mix of cayenne powder and smoked paprika to replicate the smoky taste of the chipotle powder!

Do you think that red pepper flakes would work if I can't find the Chipotle powder? I have never seen anything like that in my local store. I will have to look around at some of the larger chains and see if they have it. Where would I look for it? This recipe sounds so delicious.
