What is beef flavor boost? Does it contain MSG? I cannot have that ingredient. I do love the rest of the ingredients in the dish. I especially like the use of the green pepper. Does it matter much if it is sliced or diced? I like to dice it to get the flavor all through the dish.

When I was growing up, Swiss steak was one of my favorite dinners that my mom would make for us on the weeknights. I never really thought to get the recipe from her back then. This version looks very similar to hers, so I plan on trying it this week! I think I will serve it over some buttered homestyle or egg noodles.
