Slow Cooker Cranberry Apple Butter
"I could eat holiday food from September through December and be happy as a clam. I don't know what it is about turkey and cranberry sauce, but I just absolutely love it. Who has the time though to make that much turkey, though? Not me. So when I was invited to work with Marie Callender's and create a recipe to go alongside one of their pot pies, I was so excited to hop down the aisle at Walmart and find a Turkey Pot Pie!!! I knew right away I would make a cranberry dish. The turkey pot pies taste like homemade and are Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner all wrapped up neatly into a golden, perfectly flaky crust. There's no muss, no fuss, and practically no time commitment at all - and my Slow Cooker Cranberry Apple Butter is the perfect addition. I like to spoon mine right on top of the golden flaky crust and mix it all together. Mmmmm. It's also delicious on biscuits, pancakes, and over ice cream or yogurt!"

I love that you can thicken up this apple butter. I want to make this dish and see what it turns out like because I never thought about using cranberries in my apple butter before, but it sounds do delightful. Do you prefer to use smooth orange juice or the kind with the pulp for this recipe? Do you ever throw in a touch of orange zest, or would that overpower the apples and cranberries?
