Could I just use fresh onion and some spices or maybe minced onion instead of the onion soup mix? I just think it would be much easier than trying to separate the mix. I love that you used cranberry sauce in this recipe because it is not something most people choose to use on meat roasts and in pork recipes. The French dressing is a new ingredient that I typically do not see, so I am excited to try this dish out and see how it tastes.
