Slow Cooker Candied Yams
Slow Cooker Candied Yams are a must-have for the holiday season. This slow cooker side dish is sweet, gooey and delicious. The recipe is made with yams, brown sugar, sugar, salt, vanilla, butter, and cornstarch. Cornstarch thickens the candied sauce for that gooey texture that every good candied yam recipe has. You can add in chunks of apples mixed with cinnamon for more of a fall flavor. Make this dish during the crazy holiday season when you're short on space in the oven.

I love my candied yams for Thanksgiving and look forward to them every year. I usually boil my sweet potatoes and then slice them and put them in a casserole dish and add ingredients put in oven and cook 20 minutes and add marshmallows last 5 minutes or until they are melted. I never used the cornstarch. I like the idea or adding the apples and cinnamon. I must try that. I am going to try this but I think I will boil my yams first. you must put this on your recipe list of foods. You will be glad you did.
