I have never cooked with lentils before, what kind of flavor and texture do they have? Are they like a split pea, or more like a bean? I love that you added the zucchini, but left instructions for leaving it out if you want. I think it takes on the flavor of the dish, so no one will even know if it is there.

I am thinking about reversing the beef and lentil amounts to reduce the amount of meat in the recipe. The lentils are more nutritious than the beef and no one will probably be the wiser. This dish sounds yummy.

I really hate to admit it but I have served my family that canned sloppy joe in the past. Not ever again though now that I have found this Slow Cooker Beef and Lentil BBQ Sloppy Joes recipe. I really like the fact that there are hidden veggies included.
