Slow Cooker Time HIGH9 hr
Ingredients
- 5 carrots peeled, and rough cut (about 1-inch pieces)
- 10 red Russet potatoes, washed and quartered
- 1 onion, halved and sliced
- 3 1/2 cups water
- 4 pounds corned beef brisket with spice pack
- 1 (16-ounce) beer (preferably ale)
- 1 small head cabbage, rough cut
Instructions

Place carrots, potatoes and onion on the bottom of the slow cooker.

Add the water.

Place brisket on top of the vegetables.

Add the beer.

Sprinkle the spices on top.

Cover and set on HIGH. Cook for 7 to 8 hours.

Add the cabbage, and cook for 1 more hour.

Can I just use beef broth instead of the beer in this dish? I am just not a fan of the beer taste at all. I love that you make this recipe so simple to pull together and get going before you head to work or school. The best part is coming home to the aroma of a home-cooked meal when you were at work all day.
