Since it is finally Fall, the days are here for this type of dish. Lucky for me, fresh shrimp is available year round and I dont have to bother with the frozen version. This looks like a great chowder to serve as an appetizer for my family, but for me I would just enjoy it for a light lunch or add a half sandwich for more.

I love that this recipe doesn't have a page long ingredient list - since shrimp can be a bit pricey, I don't want to shell out money on a ton of things I might only use for soup. It is August and we have fresh sweet corn on sale everywhere right now, so I might opt for the fresh, and use the frozen corn for this in the winter months. The sweetness of the corn and the shrimp pairs nicely with the heat from the Cajun spices!
