I am not quite sure whether this flavorful soup has French, Irish, or even Italian roots, but it is delicious all the same. It is elegant enough to serve as a first course at a formal dinner party, yet so quick and easy that it can be thrown together on a busy weeknight! Got a picky child who doesn't appreciate the strong flavor of smoked fish? I say, "TOUGH!" there's more for me!
