Classic Chicken Cacciatore
Classic Chicken Cacciatore is packed with delicious flavor. It's seasoned with garlic, marjoram, black pepper, thyme, and salt. Onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms also add taste to this slow cooker chicken cacciatore. Feel free to add more of those ingredients if you'd like. White wine, chicken broth, and tomato paste make the chicken tender and moist. Serve your Italian chicken cacciatore over a bed of your favorite pasta. Then, top it with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and freshly chopped herbs.

I can't have the mushrooms because I am allergic to them. Is there any way that I can use extra bell peppers instead of the mushrooms? What does marjoram taste like, I have never used the spice before now? I want to make this as a special dinner for my husband if I can get him to try a new chicken dish.

Hi SissieSass, yes I think adding more bell pepper would be a good substitution for the mushrooms. Marjoram is somewhat similar to oregano, if that helps. - Natalie, Editor of AllFreeSlowCookerRecipes
