Do you use regular soy sauce or the low-sodium version? I know a lot of people use the low-sodium to keep their salt intake down. I will use it if it will be ok in this dish. I love the combination of sweet and sour sauce with chicken. It is a favorite combination with pork too.

Instead of chicken I've used pork shoulder very lightly braised before adding to the slow cooker. Maybe add an orange bell pepper and some bok choy stems. On a bed of white rice or try wild rice.
