Do you have a preference on the style of diced tomatoes for this dish? Some people like to get the ones with garlic or rosemary or whatever seasoning in them, while others are fine with the plain tomatoes. I always ask because the spices make a difference when you are making dishes like this one.

I would make this pretty much year round, because the slow cooker doesn't heat up the kitchen. I've never thought of adding taco seasoning to stew, but I like the idea. We'll enjoy this stew with a loaf of fresh bread, maybe even from my bread machine.
