Is the liquid smoke essential in this dish? I know it adds that bbq flavor to the food, but I do not have any, and I really want to cook this roast. I think that I can add some paprika to give it a little bit of the smoky flavor, and maybe some cumin would help, but I have the rest of the ingredients. I think I will experiment until I get some liquid smoke, and then I will make it again.
